Summery
- Sample preparation and testing for photoluminescence analysis, bulk carbon analysis, and lifetime determination.
- Analyze data from audits in the PL, C and Lifetime instruments including Epitaxial sample slices and make decisions based on signal strength and spectra peaks, including approving data for batch disposition that affects finished products determination.
Essential Functions
- Data entry into the LIMS system and data transfer into the SAP system.
- Instrument calibration and daily quality verification.
- Analysis of polysilicon and epitaxial film samples using photoluminescence spectrometry.
- Analysis of bulk carbon in polysilicon, using cryogenic Fourier transform infrared spectrometry.
- Adherence to fault tree protocols for re-sampling and verification. Sample preparation involving mixing chemicals and etching samples.
- Keeping lab clean maintaining 5S.
Education
- Must meet HSC S&T Technician hiring requirements, have a high school diploma or equivalent, and have had classes in chemistry and physics.
- Classes in calculus, prior work experience in a similar field, and/or a two-year associate's degree are highly desired, but are not mandatory.
- Bachelors or associates in chemistry is desirable.
Work Experience
- At least 1 year experience working in an industrial laboratory environment.
- A working knowledge of essential computer programs, electronic/electrical measurements, gauge readings, Statistical Process Control.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity are essential skills that must be demonstrated.
- Data accuracy and recognition and response of out-of-control situations and results are essential.
- Troubleshooting issues in the lab
- Routine maintenance of the lab equipment
