Summary

We are seeking an experienced and driven Solar Commercial Director to lead the commercialization of our solar polysilicon products while continuing to build our differentiated brand in the market. The successful candidate will work closely with supply chain customers and end market purchasers of solar electricity to develop and implement specification strategies that maximize sales and profitability while maintaining compliance with industry standards. Additionally, the Solar Commercial Director will focus on customers with application and process engineering developments, expansion of domestic content in the marketplace, and policy coordination with government affairs for U.S. domestic manufacturing expansion.

Essential Functions

  • Develop and execute a commercialization strategy that focuses on building a differentiated brand in the market.
  • Manage the sales and competitive intelligence team to achieve revenue targets and maximize profitability while maintaining compliance with industry standards.
  • Develop and implement specification strategies to ensure product quality and performance meet customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to establish pricing strategies that maximize sales and profitability.
  • Lead the development of revenue projections and P&L forecasts to guide business decisions and measure performance.
  • Coordinate traceability documentation and ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and customer requirements.
  • Work with the marketing and communications team to develop and execute marketing plans that promote the brand and support sales objectives.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key customers, developers, buyers, policy makers, and industry stakeholders.
  • Drive customer focus by coordinating with process engineering for product developments to improve efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness of the production process, while also meeting ESG goals.
  • Expand the Ultra-Low Carbon Solar product line, positioning it as a leader in the market and differentiating it from competitors.  Expand certification to EPEAT by supply chain partners.
  • Coordinate with government affairs to develop and implement policies that support domestic manufacturing expansion and provide a competitive advantage in the market.
  • Stay up to date on industry trends, regulations, and competitive activities to inform business decisions.
  • Participate in industry events and conferences to promote the company and build networks.

Required Work Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • 5-10 years of experience in a commercial leadership role in the solar industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in building and leading successful sales teams.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience developing revenue projections and P&L forecasts.
  • Experience in developing and implementing specification strategies and coordinating traceability documentation.
  • Knowledge of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues and strategies for building an ESG differentiated brand.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers, developers, buyers, and industry stakeholders.
  • Ability to drive and coordinate with process engineering developments to improve efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness of the production process, while also meeting ESG goals.
  • Knowledge of Ultra-Low Carbon Solar and experience expanding the product line.
  • Experience coordinating with government affairs to develop and implement policies that support domestic manufacturing expansion.
  • Ability to travel as needed to customer and industry events.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

The range for this position is  $152,240.00   -  $209,330.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, variable bonus, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
